Human Body and Human Health
The Human Body is the entire structure of a human organism, and consists of a head, neck, torso, two arms and two legs.
By the time the human reaches adulthood, the body consists of close to 50 trillion cells, the basic unit of life. These cells are organised biologically to eventually form the whole body.
Human body size, type and proportion
The average height of an adult male human (in developed countries) is about 1.7–1.8 m (5'7" to 5'11") tall and the adult female about 1.6–1.7 m (5'2" to 5'7") tall.
This size is firstly determined by genes and secondly by diet. Body type and body composition are influenced by postnatal factors such as diet and exercise
Human Internal Systems
Circulatory System (heart, blood, vessels)
Respiratory System (nose, trachea, lungs)
Immune System (many types of protein, cells, organs, tissues)
Skeletal System(bones)
Excretory System (lungs, large intestine, kidneys)
Urinary System (bladder, kidneys)
Muscular System (muscles)
Endocrine System (glands)
Digestive System (mouth, esophagus, stomach, intestines)
Nervous System (brain, spinal cord, nerves)
Reproductive System (male and female reproductive organs)
Human Health is the general condition of a person in all aspects. It is also a level of functional and/or metabolic efficiency of an organism, often implicitly human. Overall health is achieved through a combination of physical, mental, emotional, and social well-being, which, together is commonly referred to as the Health Triangle.
Health Triangle

Health triangle consists of three sides
- Social Health
- Physical Health
- Mental Health
It is very important to have the sides on you health triangle equal. Without all of the sides being equal it will not only affect that 1/3 but will throw off the other 2/3’s as well. To have a healthy health triangle all sides must be the same.
Mental Health
Mental health is defined and evaluated by our ability to handle the stresses of daily life and maintain a generally cheerful and optimistic attitude about life. In looking at a person's mental health, we need to consider her relationships with friends and family. Some people also include learning abilities when evaluating mental health.
Social Health
A person's real-life social network is a crucial indicator of social health. It pertains to the ability to form positive and supportive relationships with peers. Here, you see a tie-in with mental and physical health. Lack of friends can lead to depression, which can cause physical health-related symptoms. In contrast, a person with a strong network of friends will always have people she can turn to.
Physical Health
Physical health is defined by a person's sleep and eating habits, as well as the amount of exercise they get and their oral hygiene. In evaluating physical health, we look at drug, alcohol and smoking habits and consider whether the person has regular checkups such as breast exams, colonoscopy, skin cancer exams and any other necessary medical exams.
